Nazbah and Fayza provided our team with support in the lead up to, during and after a high-activation event for our organization. This included a somatic arc that covered a range of different practices, building upon each other over a period of 6 weeks. It is also clear that building relationships with their partners and tailoring to needs is an important part of their process.
I deeply appreciate the many elements of support that Nazbah and Fayza bring into their practice, including considerations for disability justice, centring consent and agency and also meeting people where they're at. Somatics practices are explained clearly and demonstrated in several adaptations for accessibility. Invitations to observe, practice some of the activities or all allows for choosing in based on where people are at. This made for an environment of both learning and practicing somatics that was deeply approachable and non-intimidating.
Further, throughout the arc Nazbah also centered on their Diné teachings and understandings of the land, creation, water, movement, and Indigenous experiences of trauma to strengthen the materials presented. Nazbah's depth of knowledge in somatics partnered with their cultural knowledge is a combination that really landed for our team. Highly recommend the opportunity to work with Nazbah and Fayza! - Indigenous Climate Action
I felt really safe. More than safe…I felt protected. That's why it made it easier and I felt more courageous to do that because I felt held and protected. Just having someone else touch my body but not feel that I had to perform it in any way meant I could just be in my body. " -Kayla Carter
That was an amazing treatment. I think that was really effective. It was one session and I felt like I really quickly bi-passed all of my instincts and was able to get to the heart of the matter pretty deep and get some work done and some healing." - Chanelle Gallant
"Nazbah has such a gentle energy to them and inside that space where I felt so vulnerable, I felt safe letting go and letting them have my back." --Parke Ballantine
